Slow loading AVI from CD

I have a presentation that uses 2 embedded AVI's on
different slides. When testing from the hard drive all is
well. However from the packaged CD, though I expect a
slower losd time, one AVI runs 40mins, is 400Mb in length
and loads in about 6secs. The other is less compressed
runs 4mins and is 100Mb, but takes about 50secs to load,
far too long for a dist CD. Is there a problem with the
shorter AVI file, do I need to optimize it, and if so with
what software?

Nuh dont get it? May be I'm a slow load myself, but the
pres is structured with a menu slide that links to 2
slides each slide is identical except for the AVI
embedded. Why then does a 100Mb AVI take nearly 8X longer
to load than a 400Mb?

Just think about how long it takes to read a 100mb file
or a 400mb file...before it even starts to deal with it.
