Slow load with checkboxes in XL2002

Hi folks,

When opening a workbook containing a single checkbox, XL2002 takes about 1
min 20 seconds to open the file. Opening another file with lots of data
(but no checkboxes) takes a great deal less time on the same machine.

It does the same thing in Windows Safe Mode, Application Safe Mode. No
addins are being loaded. XLB file has been dumped. Registry keys killed
and recreated. And Office has been uninstalled and reinstalled. Also, no
antivirus application is running while opening the file. I've tried
updating FM20.DLL and FM20ENU.DLL.

Any guesses on what could be causing this? Troubleshooting steps or
possible avenues to pursue?

Try cleaning up all the files in the windows Temp folder.
