Slow installation phase/hangs

I have 40 mchines to reload and patch up to the latest
level. They are relatively low specification as they are
just to be TS clients and used for email. After building
with Win2k SP4 and IE6 SP1 they require 16 patches. The
download speed is fine but the install time is atrocious.
One succeeded after 3 hours other I eventually aborted and
it reported some failed installations. A rerun of the
update then allows the complete installation of the
remainder. Doing this on another 35 is not tenable, any
suggestions?

Norton Ghost, clone the first machine and then apply to the remaining 35
followed by running Ghost Walker which will reassign new SIDs so the
computers can coexist on the same network.

There is also a way to do more or less the same thing using MS Sysprep and
is best suited if your computer configurations are different at the hardware
level. Sysprep can be had from:
