Slow File Copy From the Network Servers

Hi,

I am having this problem - whenever I am trying to copy any executable files
(.exe, .com or the like) from the network servers (Windows NT,
Windows 2000 or Fedora Core 2) to my XP machine (with SP2), it took a very
long time to response to the copy & paste command. However such does not
occur for
other files.

Have anyone encounter this ? How to fix it?

Thanks a lot

I'd suspect antivirus software is slowing down the transfer, which you could
test by temporarily disabling the real-time scanner and testing again.

Hi Richard,

I have disabled that feature (AVG Resident Shield) as well as unload that
from the system, the result is the same. I have used an XP machine without
SP2 update, such symptom does not exist.

What else could be the cause and remedy ?
