I have a medium size database (app 38mb) which I use to store financial information. Whilst this database was stored on a local server all was fine - however a corporate decision was made to transfer the file location to an interstate server.

Since then it is almost impossible to run filters on the main transaction tables. I have had some suggestions to split the database into frontend and backend, however as we always work directly into the tables, I question the benefits this would produce.

Does anyone have any suggestions to assist with this issue.

I am a relatively novice Access Database user so any input would be greatly appreciated
