Slow connect to shared drives

Jason

I have two computers that are running XP and several other computers
that are running win2000. The problem I am running into is that when I
go to connect to shared drives (X, Y, Z), it seems to take forever for
the XP computers to connect to the shared drives, but this problem
doesn't seem to happen with the 2000 computers. Any suggestions? The
shared drives are located on a server running win2003 server.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Have you checked to see if it is Indexing the drives for
fast file searching?

How would I turn that on or off and how would I know if it is doing
that?

Go to a an Explorer window and start Search. In Change Preferences if
it has 'Without Indexing' click on that to switch it off
