Slow Bootup

I have this network of 5 computers that was working fine until recently.
All of them are running Windows XP Pro. I had them setup with static IP.
One system is acting as a server and all computers have shared folders.

This morning three of the computers cannot connect to the server. When I
shutdown and restarted everything including the router and a hub, these same
three computers were booting very slowly as if the systems were frozen. I
unplug their respective network cables and one by one they were able to boot
into windows but no network.

I check all cables and even tried replacing the hub and router and it still
the same. The server and another computer are also working fine. I tried
using DHCP an all systems and I was able to make two of the three computers
work. THe weird thing is, the computer that does not work has a shared
printer directly connected to it. This printer is working over the network.

Can anyone tell me what's going on or show me the solution to this problem?

What is the malware/virus status of the machines? If you think they are
clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

Be sure - take all machines off the network first:
