slow boot

all of a sudden my computer takes ages to boot in the start menu about four
of the symbols come up and then it gets stuck on bt broadband desk top help
before this happened they used to fly up can someone please tell me what has
happened thanks.

First make sure the computer is completely virus/malware-free:

If the machine is clean, do clean-boot troubleshooting to determine what
startup programs/processes are causing the problem.
