Slow access to icon properties

When I right click on a desktop icon, it takes anywhere
from 30 seconds to a minute before the context menu comes
up. Any ideas on a fix?
 
Probably caused by a "bad" norton A-V update. Force a fresh A-V update
and see if it clears up.
