Hello all, havent posted here in some time. I have an observation and
question I would like to make/ask and figured there are experts here on this
so here I go.
When I was using IE 6 I switched back and forth between IE and Firefox
slowly gravitating towards 100% use of Firefox. Well, I downloaded the Beta
IE 7 and have to say that IMHO it is the worst user interface jumblef__k I
have ever seen in a browser. I would like to make Firefox my primary browser
and forego IE altogether. So here is my question. I have searched all over
(But havent asked in MS Groups) and cannot find how, but would like to set
it so that if I click an external link (through email for example) Firefox
pops up instead of IE.

TIA
Jeff

Just go to Tools>Options>General>Default Browser and check the box.

I created a shortcut to do Windows updates. The shortcut will open the
Windows updates in IE. The updates won't work in Firefox. When you
create the shortcut, put the following in the "Target" (include the
quotes):

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://[Windows
Update Site]

Then put the following in the "Start in":

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer"

In Fx, Tools » Options » General » Default Browser, click 'Check Now'.
