Is it possible to create a slideshow function for viewing all jpegs in a
folder in windows 2000 like XP can do automatically?

If it is just a program file that does this - can I copy it from my XP
machine over to my 2000 machine - if so where and what is that program
called?

Thanks

From XP HELP:
To view your pictures as a slide show

1.. Open My Pictures.
2.. Under Picture Tasks, click View as a slide show.
Notes

a.. To open My Pictures, double-click the My Documents icon on your desktop, and then
double-click the My Pictures folder.
b.. Use the slide show toolbar buttons to play, pause, move to the previous or next
slide, or end the slide show. If the toolbar is not displayed, move the pointer across the
screen, and it will appear in the upper-right corner of the screen. You can also use the
following keyboard shortcut keys while viewing your pictures as a slide show: Press these
keyboard keys To do this
Left Arrow, PAGE UP, or Up Arrow Go to the previous image in this folder.
Right Arrow, PAGE DOWN, or Down Arrow Go to the next image in this folder.
CTRL+K Rotate the image by 90 degrees clockwise.
CTRL+L Rotate the image by 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
SPACEBAR Switch between playing and pausing the slide show.
ENTER Go to the next image.
ESC Exit the slide show.
TAB Turn the slide show toolbar on or off.

c.. If none of the pictures or only one picture is selected, all of the pictures will be
shown in the slide show. If two or more pictures are selected, only those pictures will be
shown in the slide show.
d.. You can view your pictures as a slide show in any My Pictures subfolder or any
folder customized as a pictures folder.

You might want to take your own advice. The question is
about Windows 2000 not XP.

This is a Windows 2000 question and really should be asked in the
windows 2000 forum, however there is a freeware program IrfanView that
will do slide shows for you. Do a yahoo or google search - you'll find it.

Old dopey me. I guess since this is a Windows XP NG I just glossed right over that
2000 bit.

Check out Irfanview at http://www.irfanview.com. This is a superb,
free image viewer. It handles any type of image you are *ever* likely
to come across. One of its many features is a slideshow.
