This is a common problem with Vista and laptops. When you put your computer
to sleep, do it from the start menu icon, not by closing the lid. Wait until
all the lights stop blinking and it completely goes into sleep before closing
the lid. Bring it out of sleep by pressing the power button. Set your
computer up so that closing and opening the lid has no funtion. To do this
click on the power plan icon by the clock in the notification area, click on
more power options. Then click on choose what closing the lid does. Select
"do nothing" for opening and closing the lid.
