Skype question

Chakolate

A friend who lives in Greece and co-authors papers with another friend
who lives here in Chicago wants to use Skype for conferences, but she has
a Mac and hasn't upgraded to X yet. Is there a Skype version for older
OSs and do you know where I can find it?

oldversion.com has several previous versions but I don't know which one
to advise her to try. Please note that I've next-to-no knowledge of
Macs, having used only Windoze and Unix, so if there's technical stuff,
please be precise.

Thanks!

Chak

In science, 'fact' can only mean 'confirmed to such a degree that it
would be perverse to withhold provisional assent.' I suppose that apples
might start to rise tomorrow, but the possibility does not merit equal
time in physics classrooms.

These may be a ways around it.

NetMeeting on XP

Lousy. A technology professor tried to set it up with me last year, we
used 2 hrs on the phone to make NetMeting run on our Win XP machines. We
were happy to use Skype now.
Does it work with MacOS ?

Now, Wavigo is windows only but they say that with their new 1.0 version
you can interconnect with MacOS, too.

Did you find any info on the operating systems? This app dates form 2002
and is still in its version 1.0.

Thanks for the listing!

Lousy? That only means thet **you** are lousy. Net meeting works very
well out of the box in my experience.

I'll forward the complements. I think the large majority of people don't
need a whiteboard. So, Skype which has no difficulty with blocked ports
due to firewalls and which runs on Win and MacOS is, as far as I see,
today the best solution. But this can of course change.
