SKU011.cab

I'm trying to install the Solver Add-in to my excel software and I'm getting
an error, SKU011.Cab file not found. I went back to my original CD that I
installed the software from and can't find it there either. I have a zipped
files on that CD.

I also cannot get an update to my office to work. It fails.

Can anyone tell me where this SKU011.CAB file is?

I'm having same problem: driving me nuts. This is a MS website article. I
tried LISTool but no luck. I don't have a CD or Certificate of Authenticity.
If you download LISTool it will give you much better instructions. There are
a lot of posts here, too. Good luck.

SYMPTOMS
When you try to update your Microsoft Office 2003 program from the Office
Update Web site or try to install the Office 2003 SP1 from the Microsoft
site, you receive the following error message:

Installation Error: File not Found
A required installation file SKU011.CAB could not be found.

Original Installation Source Required:

If you installed program name from a CD, please insert your CD. If you
installed program name over your computer network, please browse to the
installation source on your network. Once you have located your installation
source, click OK.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if one of the following conditions is true:

- The Local Installation Source has been disabled
- Source files in the C:\MSOCache\All
Users\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9 folder are missing.
- The \MSOCache folder has been deleted.
- Office Source Engine File ( OSA.exe ) has been renamed to OSA.xxx

Even if you copy the SKU011.cab file from the Office 2003 CD to the
C:\MSOCache\All Users\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9 the error repeats
and it deletes the file from the said folder while applying the SP1.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, use one of the following methods when you
receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section:

1. Download the Local Installation Source Tool ( LISTool.exe ) from the
following location:-
http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2003/journ/LISTool.htm
Install and run this tool.
Choose the option Enable LIS, Click Next.
Select the Office Programs you would like to enable the Local Installation
Source for, Choose Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003, Click Next.
Click Enable.
If it will ask for the Office 2003 installation files then, Click Browse,
locate the Office 2003 program installation folder on your network or Office
2003 CD and then click OK.
A message box will appear confirming the update.

2. Rename the file name OSA.xxx to OSA.exe

Thanks, Rob. I tried this LIST thing and I'm stuck at this instruction:

Click Browse, locate the Office 2003 program installation folder on your
network or Office 2003 CD and then click OK.

There are a whole bunch of files on my CD and none of them are named "Office
2003 program installation folder". Most are zipped files even.

Do you know EXACTLY the name of the file I need to browse to?

It won't let me run this LIST thing until I pick the correct file.

On the Office CD it will usually be one of the top level folders you need,
and it should then find it, probably the one with the original setup.exe or
just down one level to Office11 sub directory

Nick,

Thanks for the further explananation but I have no file called setup.exe on
the CD. There are two Setup files one under OCWC10 and the other under OWC11.

Under MSOFFICE and then OFFICE11 and then 1033, there aren't any set up files.

Can you tell me exactly the name of the file I need to find?

If the file is missing, running detect and repair or simply re-installing
over the top should replace it

Hello, Again, Nick,

I have run deteck and repair a couple of times and that didn't work.

When you say "over the top", do you mean I can do a complete reinstall of
Microsoft Office without "uninstalling it first"?

I'm really afraid to uninstall because I don't want to screw up what I got
now.

Yes, but that is sort of what Detect and repair does.
