Hello

I use a low cost scanner (Mustek 2448CU Pro). This scanner creates pictures
that are not quite rectangular.

Photoshop 8 (skew function) is able to modify my pictures to rectangular
form. But Photoshop 8 is very slow, and not freeware.

Somebody knows a freeware with skew function ? Irfanview doesn't have skew
function.

Thanks for your replies.

Photofiltre will do this:

Also imageAnalyser, but he calls it "warp"

(btw i could not get very good results for now, with this
interesting program for getting more sharpness on blurred
photos, with deconvolution)

In Irfanview you can use Ctrl-U to skew a picture (called rotation)
to the left or right but be aware you lose some clarity if you do it
too much.

Thanks

I tried "Image analyzer" but it is difficult to "warp" an image with
precision, because of small size of warp screen.

And the correction seems to be inverted ... Not very easy.

I trid this fonction, but skew is not rotation. I want to transform a
parallelogram to a rectangle ...

Euthymenes;

The Gimp (http://gimp.org/) does this. Load the image, click on

tools -> transform tools -> perspective.

Then place your mouse on the image, click & drag.

OK. If the skew is only slight, can't you carefully crop?

I cannot use this function, even for slight skew. Some of pictures I want to
skew must be quite rectangular, with lines and columns.

If I rotate my picture, horizontal lines become horizontal, but vertical
lines are not vertical.

The four angles are not quite 90 degrees. A rotation will not change this.

THanks.

GIMP is very slower than PHOTOFILTRE, during installation and during
execution.

So I will use Photofiltre. For my usage it is quite faster.

Thanks. It works very fine. Exit Photoshop !

Just be advised that (TTBOMK) Photofiltre (the free version) won't
output .gif files.

Serif PhotoPlus6 has a distort feature. Use CTRL or SHIFT to skew
disproportionately or proportionally. www.freeserifsoftware.com
