size of font

I use windows xp. I'm not sure how it happened but everyting I print in word
processing or word pad comes out in very large font. I have tried to reset
it, done everything I know. I'm frustrated. Please help in simple language.
 
Open WordPad, click Format and click Font.
Now Select Courier New, Regular, 10 point and click OK.
