Size of Data Validation Dropdown Box

As far as I know there is no way to increase the size of the Data Validation Dropdown Box
I can partly workaround this by increaseing the worksheet zoom when a validated cell is selected (as per www.contectures.com), but I would prefer to only do this wehn the dropdown box is actually shown (ie as soo as the dropdown arrow is clicked). I've tried recording this, but VBA doesn't seem to recognise an event for selecting the dropdown arrow
Does anyone know how I can get VBA to recognise this event

AFAIK there's no such event. So the best you can do is the workaround
you found on contextures.com
