"size" fields are blank for autoshapes; lines, text boxes, etc. ??

When I double click on things and bring up the Format Autoshape box, the
height and width fields are blank. It didn't used to be like that... I could
draw a rectagle, double click on it to find out the dimensions. This is also
happening to some pictures.

any thoughts....

Hi Jason,

Hmmm. Are any of the objects grouped? Else, have you tried Help| Detect and
Repair? Or Checked for updates?

Which Office Suite are you using 2002 XP 2003 need more info before I can
answer this question.

I've seen this behavior, but I can't tell you what causes it or how to fix
it, sorry. Sometimes if you type 100% x 100% in the scale area (and then hit
your Tab key), it will cause the height/width to show.
 
I have exactly the same experience.
I'm using vanilla Powerpoint 2003 SP2 installed as part of MS Office
Standard Edition 2003.
Items are not grouped and I have no special code that I know of.
Echo S workaround is sometimes OK, sometimes makes the text box huge!

This must be a bug ... any ideas?

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay Deborah. I am using 2002 with SP3.

This happens to other items besides text boxes such as rectangles with no
text on/in them etc...

I will try the dect and repair...

Also, setting the scale to 100% does make the dimensions appear. Thanks for
that tip Echo S!!!
