site problems

[/etc/passwd/x_*.dat]

i just did and update to my site. i copied the updated files from my
test site and pasted them into the folder of my live site. when i try
accessing my site from some other system, it requests for a login
authentication (username, password and domain) for my site from the
internet explorer page. this is the first time i'm ever experiencing
such. can anyone be of help?

You need to *publish* your site from frontpage to the server - copy and
pasting won't do it.
