Site loads in pieces. How to make load smooth?

Since a web page is made up many flies, these all need to download
separately, short of making the page one large image or Flash file that's
just the way it works. You can preload images on previous pages, but this
does nothing for your home page or doorway pages. You can add a script to
control the load order:

layers to control the load order.

Everything bill says is right but you might be able to use a "page
transition" which, it think, is only good for internet explorer but I
remember they won't fire till the page completely loads. pick a subtle one.

I can't think of anything (except maybe Themes) that will make a business
site look more unprofessional.

There's a local real estate company that deals in high-end properties -
think communities that have a $1,000,000.00 initiation fee before you can
even buy property. They use transitions *AND* a theme. If I had the cash, I
don't think I would be throwing it around with a company who looks like they
spent 50 cents on their web site.

maybe there's a transition "all at once" ;-) it's even worse when the use
them on entrance and exit of every page. probably.
maybe he can load the page template into a hidden frame and just have the
default page be a simple splash page.

- you have ~ 50 KB of images plus your slide show and rollover images(none of which are preloaded)

Got to take my new motorcycle out for a ride to make the rounds to different
father types. ;-)
My daughter got me saddle bags and a windshield for the bike but didn't even
try to put them on.
