Sims HD expanison troubles (Win32 error????)

hmm, Is there any one who can help with this? I
downloaded, unzipped and installed the sims HD expansion
pack, all with no problems. then when I click on the icon
to run it, it gives me an error that says
C:/yada/yada/directory/sims.exe is not a valid Win32
application. I have no idea at all what this means, or how
to fix it. It would mean a lot to me if someone would help
explain this, or help me fix it? I wrote EA tech support
and the (Finally) wrote back and said this was a microsoft
problem?

It's not really a Microsoft problem unless you expect Windows to
automatically repair damaged illegally(1) downloaded software with some kind
of magic crystal ball.

A not a valid Win32 error basically means the file is corrupted.

guarentee you technical support and that you'll get one that isn't corrupt
and filled with viruses and spyware and who knows what other nice surprises.

1 I'm guessing - I don't know anywhere that allows for legal downloads of
Hot Date.
