simple wav - mp3 recording tool?

I want a very simple mp3 recorder that you will press a button and you will
record a mp3 file from your MICROPHONE on your hard disk.

I dont want to use windows sound recorder

Note that after you record your audio you will need to 'export' (to save)
the file as an mp3. You will also need to make sure you have an mp3 decoder
(like Lame.dll).

I've been meaning to try a program like HardDiskOgg

http://www.fridgesoft.de/harddiskogg.php

which will sock away the recorded sound in a compressed format (not
..wav), so that you can record long things without busting the HD.

Just bought an M-Audio USB sound interface and a stereo mic, and I'm
thinking about doing some long field recordings - I wonder if this will
work for me...
