This should be simple to answer.

This kind of seems like its a built-in feature. I just can't find anything
that reflects the following:

On my new notebook with Windows XP, IE 6.0, all the latest updates, etc,
when I log into a web site that usages basic authentication, even if I use
the "[X] Remember password" it doesn't remember or "stick" my name or pass
in the dialog login popup box. I have to keep entering the name and
password.

I looked everywhere under IE 6.0 settings. I don't see anything that
resembles a security related option that says "(X) never remember login
credentials" or "(X) Force login for time first time."

Anything I missed?

Again, it basically doesn't remember the name and password. I have to
re-enter both the first time I have to login to the site.

Thanks

Hello,

Go to Internet Options, click on the Content tab, click on Autocomplete and
make sure you have checked User names and Passwords. Then check it to
prompt you to save.

You should now be prompted. Once you do this, when you revisit the page it
should populate the info for you.

Best regards,
