Simple Conditional Formatting Question

I am creating a simple response sheet in Excel.
I want people to respond only to the cells I have highlighted in
yellow. Those cells are unlocked, everything else protected.
Once anything, test, number, date, is entered I want the yellow to
disappear.
I know this is simple but I can't figure it out!

in the conditional format dialog enter a formula such as
=A1<>""
