Simple CD player for XP?

Hello All!

Is there a simple, free music CD player for Win XP, similar to cdplayer.exe, which was
resident on Win 98?

I don't like all the extras that come with MusicMatch, and all their pop-ups wanting me to
pay for upgrades.

All I want to do is listen to CD's! Where can I find cdplayer.exe, and will it work on
XP?

Thanks!

Gerard

Yes - it is built in under the name of Windows Media Player.

No...It's too bloated, and takes far too long to load. I want a simple interface, like
the old CD player.

There is a good alternative, and it isn't bloat ware. Get a copy of
Irfanview 6xx and the plug-ins. It's a graphics program, but it also plays
CD's, MP3, Wav, midi, video and the download will fit on a single floppy.
It's free, no pop-ups, or nag screens, and it's compatible with all Windows
9x, ME and XP, so it fills all your criteria. The only drawback is the
crappy desktop icons, but they can be replaced. It's one of the most
verasatile programs around. If the author is still asking for them, send
him a picture postcard to say thanks
