Sorry just having a bad Monday man.
Near nervous breakdown and vista is only egging me on.

You don't have statistics, you have a collection of data.

Without context, totaly meaningless.

Now that's funny. Go masturbate from a guy name "COX". Maybe you should
take him to one of your "Sex Without Partners" encounter group meetings!

Ok then Val, turn my "data" in to "stats".

Bill, how would you know such groups exist?

Since this is a forum where people generally come to get help with a
problem, you would expect just about every thread to start with a message
containing one or more of your terms. Since the terms are not associated
with any particular category of problem (video, specific programs, Vista
version, hardware platforms), there is nothing you will really be able to
derive from this, other than what people's favorite word is to describe
their quandry.

A valid study of Vista and probelem reports would be quite an undertaking.
It might be interesting.

Interview a large sampling of people using Vista. Data to collect:
Version of Vista
Factory installed, Certified Upgrade, Self done upgrade, Clean
install.......
Hardware (CPU, RAM, Video.....)
Major installed software used
How long used, how much per day
Problems experienced - type, severity, ease of remedy

If Vista has been sold or installed on millions(?) of PCs already, you
probably need to interview several thousand to get good datapoints that will
be relevant to the various combinations possible. I could ask my stats
professor boss for a better estimate, but you could get started today and
I'll get back to you.

Val

Try adding User Dumbness as well.

That will knock hell out of your figures!

Considering the millions of installations, those numbers are
statistically insignificant. (Although I'm sure that the very few folks
who have experienced problems don't feel that way.)

Bear in mind that these came from the 300 headers I have, not millions of
folk experiencing daily troubles with Vista.

What "millions of folk experiencing daily troubles....?" Please
provide a reference to substantiate such a patently absurd claim. (I
won't hold my breath, 'cauuse I know you're simply lying, now.)

You aren't doing any better as you are using the total installations to
compare numbers in this newsgroup ONLY. See below.

A ***smart*** trick commonly used in here - use total installation as the
base but "deliberately" exclude problems happened in elsewhere and only
limited to this newsgroup.

Well, are we all that stupid in your eyes?

Hi xfile.

Quite likely, that. As a matter of fact, I've rarely ever seen Bruce
get off of his soapbox while on the newsgroups.

Hi,

I don't mind anyone wants to be on the soapbox and enjoy being in the
audience.

But if I want to accuse someone as a liar, I'd at least check my facts
frist.

Plus, the title reads: Silly Stats

Thought it says it all.

Yep, he also seems often to do nothing but pontificate lots of hot air.
