Signing My Macros

B

Bill May

I created a macro in MS Word 2002 and now the system
keeps poping up with warnings about unsigned macros that
will be disabled. Surely there must be a way for the
system to accept macros that I create without a warning.
I want to keep the High security setting but do not need
the pop-up warnings about my macros.

Hi Bill

In Tools > Options > Security > Macro Security, click the Trusted Publishers tab (might have a different name in earlier versions of
Word) and tick the Trust all installed add-ins and templates box.

Then, put your code in a template. If you want the code to be available to all your documents all the time, put that template in the
Word startup folder. If you want the code available to some kinds of documents only, then put the template in your User Templates
folder, and base your document on that template. The Startup and User Templates folders are listed at Tools > Options > File
Locations.

The macros will be available to your document(s), but Word won't fire the macro warning.

Hope this helps.
