Signing Emails

I'm currently working with Acrobat and I'm signing my documents with my
digital ID. I istalled this Certificate with the Certificate Import Wizard .

Can I use it to sign emails and encript data?
When I click Sign in my outlook express and click Send. I'm getting a message:
"You cannot send digitally signed messages because you do not have a digital
ID for this accoun.t"

Or I have to get a new one (from VeriSign for example)?

Hi,
first: is your Id valid for signing email? (find it out in the certificate
properties)
second: what is your mailreader?
I'll assume you're using Outlook Express or Outlook.
You have to import your
Id in your mailreader before it can work.
In case you're using Outlook express:
tools>account>email>properties>protection tab>select signing certificate and
select encryption preferences, choose 3DES.
You will find detailed explanations here:
http://www.verisign.com/support/class1/installation/install.html

Remember your Id will work only if you type in the sender's address the
email address it was requested for.

Greetings,
Stefano
