RE: sign in drop down box, user name

my kids and their friends have been using the system and their are all

How can I remove names from the sign in window? When you sign in to MSN
Messenger, you may see several Passport name choices available in the sign-in
window. You can remove names that aren't needed or add new names.

In the main MSN Messenger window, click the Tools menu and click Options.
In the left pane, click General.
Under Sign-in Accounts and Passwords, click Change.
To add names to your list:
Click Add
Type your network location, user name, and password.
Click OK.
To remove names from your list:
Click the name you want to delete
Click Remove
Click OK.
Click Close.
Click OK

Thanks for that but the version of messenger I have, is 6.2 not
4.7.3001 as I previously stated.

I have followed the instructions and followed the link to see if that
has more info but

I done have a left pain when I open tools | option

I do have a general tab and there is a sign in section but there is no
password section in it and no options to remove passport details.

I am a bit confused!

The login names aren't even stored in the registry so I cant delete them
manually

I have also looked in various folders in the c:\Documents and Settings
folder apps folder etc.

there isn't even a file in the programs files\msm messenger folder
containing the login names. They have to be stored somewhere, possibly
encrypted or in binary form.

Looks like I'm stumped!

The web page u pointed me to says it can be done but it cant.

Thanks again for the info.

Greetings,

Click the Start Button, then click the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the
Control Panel. Select your account name, and then on the left side of the screen, under
Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. In the window that opens, you can remove
an account by clicking the passport you wish to delete [denoted by (Passport)], and then
click the 'Remove' button. For more detailed instructions and screenshots on this procedure,
