Hello

Try the following below

1. Connect the device to the gameport
2. Start -> Run -> Control Panel
3. Switch to "Classic View".
4. Run the Gaming Options control
5. In Gaming Options Click the "Add..." button.
6. From the list choose "Microsoft SideWinder (Auto Detect)"
7. This should install your device.

I've got the wheel working fine with XP.
If I recall correctly, the setup program from the CD complained about the
version of the
OS, but I was still able to install it. What problems are you experiencing?

Here's a link to the latest sidewinder software, just in case:

Am I right in saying that the sidewinder force feedback does not work with
XP, it's only the sidewinder 2 that works. That is any non-usb device will
not 'feedback', just steer.
If I'm wrong and someone has found a fix then please let me know as I have
to boot to win98 to play any games.
