I'm using Vista Home Premium on my Toshiba laptop with 2gb Ram and want to
know if I can make the background on the Sidebar transparent. I saw it on a
PC in the mall and want to know if/how I can do the same on my laptop. Can
anyone tell me how to do this, or where to go to find out?

Thank you,

Denchaz

If you are using the AERO display option the sidebar background should be
transparent. If not, try restoring a default appearance scheme to see if
you have changed a setting that took that away.

its not transparent only if you are using the classic theme

or you have run into one of the trillions of vista bugs

The following works for me:
Open Sidebar, drag each gadget to another place on screen; close
sidebar, then drag each gadget back to where it was.
