shutting down

Since having XP installed, the computer won't shut all the way down. it sits on the "Shutting Down Windows" screen until I push the re-boot button, then the power button twice!!!! I'm sure this isn't supposed to happen. I didn't have this problem with Windows 98. Help!!!!!!!! Somebody!!!!!!!!!!!1

nrj how much memory do you have? You should have at least 256MB. If you do are you letting it sit there? If you are might trigger the screen saver wich can happen. You should try playing around with the mouse.
