Shutdown vs. Restart

When I click on the Shutdown opton, the computer shuts down. When I click on
Restart, the computer also shuts down. Not a serious problem but a big
nuisance. Help ???????????

Thanks-I read the material on the websites you referenced.......all seem to
be related to problems with rebooting after a shutdown command. My problem
is just the opposite: my system shuts down when I try to restart

Thanks - the material at the links you provided appear to be related to
problems with reboot after choosing shut down. My problem is just the
opposite: my system shuts down when I choose restart.
