Shut down

When I close down the computer the screen says that it is
shutting down and then that it saving my settings and
then does nothing else. It seems that it does not know
what to do from then on. I then have to close down
manually and obviusly then runs scan disc next time.

If you used to be able to shut down properly, try rolling
back to an earlier checkpointed version of XP.

Try doing a windows repair if it is windows 2000 or XP, that should solve your problem. and its fairly easy.
