Showing generic icons instead of a preview

When I open a folder in Vista (such as my Pictures folder), Windows lists my
pictures with some generic picture icon instead of actually show me the
image. I've tried changing the view to Large and Extra Large icons, but I
still see just the generic image.

Also check under folder options in the control panel, Select View and make sure
"Always show icons, never thumbnails " is not checked.

Open "Folder Options" applet via Control Panel or from Start - Search box
(by running the command "control folders"). In the View tab of Folder
Options, uncheck the following option:

Always show icons, never thumbnails

Click OK.
