Hi
I am using Windows XP and opened my documents. If I hold
my mouse over the documents - it gives me the
Type/Size/Date of the Word Document. I want like to also
see the Title and Author.

How can I change it so I can see them.
TIA

I've never run across a way to see more in the "pop-up". It's probably
hard-coded. Although there may be a "tweak" for it somewhere by
somebody. If you right-mouse click on the file, select Properties, you
get a richer list. YOu can also in Explorer use View/Choose Details to
control what details shown on the right-side pane.

In the summary I have the title and author of the
document filled in. I know I can right click it and come
up with the properties I am looking for but want it on
the hoover over function. Make sense?

This is how it works for me. Each property and only the properties I've
filled in, show up in the tooltip when I hover over the document. I'm using
Windows XP SP1 and Office XP (2002). Interestingly, it doesn't seem to be
the same for you. I don't know why.

My documents do show that info when the cursor hovers over them. I believe it comes from:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*

select this key in the registry and see if you have a value named 'infotip' in the right-hand pane.
It is a REG_SZ type and should have a value of:

prop:Type;DocAuthor;DocTitle;DocSubject;DocComments;Write;Size

If those have been set in the documents internal Properties (As set in
File - Properties in Word) then they ought to appear in the popup,
provided Folder Options - View is set to 'show popup descriptions for
folder and desktop items'. If they don't for a document which shows
them when looking in Word (fields will not be shown if they contain
nothing) , you probably need to ask in the appropriate Office group
