I'd like to know this too. An external address book is okay at times for
some uses, but I'd prefer to be able to have my contacts right there and
multiply select them to send emails. The auto complete feature is only
marginally useful sometimes.

Hi Bob and Carl,

Sorry, Windows Mail does not have that feature anymore. Take a look
through this tutorial to see the different ways that you can see
Contacts in Windows Mail and Vista.

You might also consider Windows Live Mail (WLM) to. It handles
Contacts a little closer like that feature. -It supports Pop3, IMAP,
HTTP website (EX: Hotmail) email, and is a lot more stable. Plus, WLM
will minimize to a tray bar icon and has a separate Inbox for each email
account. WLM will automatically import Windows Mail messages, accounts,
and settings into it. --_Contacts_ will have to be manually --imported
from within WLM. (Tools, Contacts, File, Import, Address book for
current Windows User.) To --see the _Menu_bar_, press ALT+M and check
"Show all menus".-

You can read about the feature here:

'Windows Live Mail' (http://morethanmail.spaces.live.com/)

and download it here:

Would it be possible to write as an add-in? You can do that kind of thing
with other email clients.

I tried WLM a awhile back. No thanks.

I appreciate the response.

What do you mean by "write as an add-in"?
If you are asking whether Windows Mail is extensible, not that we know of.
Windows Mail seems to be a dead duck now that WLM has been released.

Pity. I don't care for WLM.
