Showing a map for an Outlook Contact Address

Hi,

Showing a map for an Outlook 2007 Contact Address has always worked perfectly.

It doesn't work anymore for several days.
- When I go to the details of a contact in Outlook 2007, and I click the
"map" button, then I get a map of Europe.
- I do not get the geographical instantly anymore

Microsoft discontinued the Live Map add-in for Outlook some time ago and don't
intend to fix it. Were you using the Live Map add-in?

Hi Diane,

It DID it for every contact, but I have found the culprit.

I had put some languages (Dutch - English - French) in "Tools - Internet
Options - Languages" of Internet Explorer 8

When I delete the languages, the maps are showing without problem.

Maybe this information is helpful to you and other users having the same
problem.

Kind regards

Does it do this for every contact? If the address isn't mapable, it will
show the continent.

Interesting - as long as English was set as default, it still shoulda
worked, but I can understand how it would default to France if French was
set as the default.

Brian, I have been trying to find out what happened to the Live Search Maps
add-in for Outlook and this is the first statement that I've seen about it
being discontinued (though I had guessed that this was probably the
situation, but was disappointed not to find any announcement about it). Can
you refer me to any more information on this?

While I don't recall seeing a general annoucement, here's why they
discontinued it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961081

Here's a Google search:
