It's not so bed when you get used to it. You can take any
icon, like on the Start menu, right click and choose send to
desktop(as a shortcut), and afterward take that shortcut and
drag it onto the quick launch bar. Rearrange the order by
drag & drop. You can right click on the taskbar and choose
large icons (who would want it?). On the left end on the
quick launch bar is a handle; place you cursor (double
arrow) over it and double click three times and notice the
shifting of taskbar handle. Fair warning, the icons will
move around in order, but you can drag the taskbar over the
left side on the quick launch bar.
Who knows, the first day Windows 95 came out, I didn't let
my shirt hit my butt until I had it. Loaded it, set it up,
used it until the sun came up and had 3.11 for work groups
on it by 8 a.m. Afterward succumb to their way of thinking.
So, who knows... Oh, for nearly a year ran the taskbar on
the top (like huh hmmm... a mac) ( and I did not know that,
then)

that will give you all of the hardware and software running
on your computer. Really comes in handy at times.

message Win98 Active Desktop did this very nicely without running
the extraneous "Quick Launch" bar, but I see no option to
do this in Win2k Pro Active Desktop options. I can hide
them but not display them on taskbar. I hope it's just my
inobservance, rather than an aesthetic step backward.
