Somebody out there must know how to get the contacts list to show on the
Windows Mail page?
In XP (Outlook Express) you could view the contacts list below the files
list on the left hand side of the screen - why not in Vista (Windows Mail)?
If anyone has the solution please let me know.

That's not possible in Windows Mail.
There is a Contacts gadget for the sidebar/

I've been trying to figure out the same thing myself. Have tried everything,
but can't find any info. anywhere. So if ya figure anything out let me know!!
PLEASE

They removed that feature. You can click on the + on the sidebar and add a
Contact Gadget.

I have a contacts listed on my toolbar at the top in windows mail...and I
have all my contacts in it. I used the transfer cable that I bought and
transferred all the stuff I wanted to keep from my xp pro computer and just
sent it to my new computer that has Vista ..

Same problem here and I wonder how MS came upon this great idea of how to be
less productive. Someone in the design department is over paid and needs to
be shot! LOL

Hey MVP's! the phrase "...that feature is not available in Windows Mail"
is getting old. I am growing tired of telling my customers the same
thing. How about you guys get on the horn to the programming staff and
get them to patch in a fix to *MAKE IT AVAILABLE?*

Sorry, nothing we can do about it.

It was much requested in the beta stages of Vista, but it fell on deaf ears.

Development of WM was stopped before Vista even hit the shelves.

The emphasis was placed toward the development of the Windows Live Mail
program.

MVPs have little or no influence with Microsoft when it comes to
determining the feature set of a program. Besides that, all development
on Windows Mail was stopped around October 2006, and that team was
shifted to Windows Live Mail.

Microsoft stopped listening to the OE / WinMail MVPs years ago. I'd suggest
you write or phone Microsoft to complain, as posting here accomplishes
nothing.
