When I use the copy function from edit or right click followed by paste the
clipboard doesn't clear. I have to clear it manually. This is a new problem
for me. Is there a setting I inadvertently changed or do I have a problem? I
tried reinstalling Office.

This is NORMAL behavior for Office, since years and years and years.

If you're accustomed to something else, then you must have had some kind of
Addin or macro installed that was doing this for you.

As Cindy says, this is the way the Windows clipboard has always worked. Once
you cut/copy you can then paste as many times a necessary.

Why do believe you need to 'clear' the clipboard? Unless you have copied/cut
something *huge*, content on the clipboard doesn't interfere with anything
and when you cut/copy something else it replaces any current content with
the new stuff... Unless you're referring to the Office Clipboard rather than
the Windows Clipboard, which is a different matter.
