Shortcuts to Drive Letters

I need to create some shortcuts to drive letters (i.e. a shortcut to I: or H:, which is a network share). This drive mappings may go to a different place for every user, but I still just want it to open what I: is mapped to for that user. I create the shortcut in the All Users\Desktop and they work just fine for the user who creates the shortcut. However, when I log on as another user, the shortcuts don't work. It appears they are trying to go back to the original URL even though the shortcut says to look for the drive letter (I: or H:)

I've done a ton of searching on the web, and found quite a bit of discussion around Windows 95 and Windows NT, but nothing for XP? Is there some other embedded information in Shortcuts and is there any way to edit this information

Thanks
Mike

Are you the admin when you create these shortcuts? Or is
the user you are useing have admin privlidges?

I am logged in as Local Admin when I create the shortcuts. The users are not Admins. When I create the shortcuts in the All Users - Desktop, they automatically give the Everyone group Read Access to the shortcuts.

Am I seeing this forum different than everyone else? In my view I see
my original question, one response with a question for me, a response
from me, and then my Anyone? comment. I get the impression you
aren't seeing it the same way? Since it's been over a week and my
question hadn't been answered, I was just trying to bring it to the
forefront again.

Yes, you're seeing it very differently from most of us. You are
seeing it on the web, and you are using the web CDO interface to
read this newsgroup--it's the slowest, clunkiest, most
error-prone method there is. Do yourself a favor and switch to a
newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with Windows.
