shortcuts missings

For some reason I can't see the shortcuts on the desktop. I thought they
were missing but when I want to use the shortcut cleaning wizard they show up
there. When I try to add a new shortcut onthe desktiop I can't see that
either. Any suggestions?

Rightclick the desk, "Arrange Icons by", "Show Desktop Icons"
