Shortcut Toolbar Replacement

I have a problem with the Shortcut Toolbar replacement (don't know if it has a
name in Vista)...

I have docked two folders, one to the left side and one to the right side of
the desktop, and that works beautifully, but the folder on the right side keeps
going away, and sometimes reappearing, at will (not my will). I have tried to
remove the hidden attribute when it goes away, but then it just shows up on the
desk top as a folder icon. The only reliable way I have found to return it is
to reboot (

Any thoughts?

its strange.. it might be the nature of the shortcuts or items in the folder
that is causing the difference...

perhaps vista is scanning something there.. or it might be your antivirus .
Only with experimentation will you be able to find the culprit by removing
some files or shortcuts

I have found a far better way to do such things... I use a shareware called
true launchbar its latest version is compatible with vista.. fantastic
product.

also there is a free launcher from jetaudio here

Since it is only the right side, with the left working nomally, I tend to
discount antivirus, et all. The one thought that went through my mind was a
possible issue with the side bar and gadgets - I may disable it to see if that
solves the problem.

Thanks for the alternative add-ins - I will definitely investigate.
