shortcut to shared folders takes too long to open

Why is that? Shortcut in desktop to a shared folder takes too long
to open (up to 40 seconds). While going thru My network places does it
instantly.

Is something wrong?

What about my tip to your 1st question some days ago ?

Would try:

Stop the "WebClient" Service. (It's for WebDAV and a known reason for
your symptom)

Better ?

If yes, deactivate it permanently

Disabled that, and it's better than before I'd say, though not really as
fast
as going thru my network places

Any other think to check out? Enabled web services again
since didn't fix the problem completely.
