short cuts

when i try to log onto the web using the short cuts the one on the desktop and the one in the start menu
i get the white page cant be displayed the only way i can log onto the web is by going to the connect to in the start menu
 
Delete the shortcut on your desktop, the path is probably incorrect. Rightclick th
file in the start menu and click "create desktop shortcut"
 
Sounds like dial up. If so you need to got to Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections tab and there
add dial up when necessary for dial in to occur when it is called for.
