Shifting Objects

this is probably a bsaic question. I created a worksheet that has multiple
columns of data. Some of the columns have a check box inserted in them. Now
I would like to hide some of the other columns, but I am getting an error
message telling me I "cannot shift objects off sheet". Can I hide columns
once I put check boxes somewhere in the spreadsheet? How?

I have encountered this recently.

When I ran into this, I was trying to hide Column L through Column
IV. What was preventing me from doing so was that I had a form
control partially overlapping Column L. You cannot cause a form
control or any part of a form control to suddenly not have a cell
behind it.

Were I to have hidden the columns I chose, the form control (a
checkbox) would have bled off the rightmost column and hung over the
gray spreadsheet background. That is not allowed.

Make sure that your "Hide" operation won't be leaving a control "off
the spreadsheet"
