Shift to bypass Startup erattic

I have removed Display Database Window and Allow Full Menus from Startup. To
get back to make alterations I am holding the Shift Key when I load the file.
However it is errattic - I have to try 2 or 3 times till I can get back in.
Anyone else hit this problem. It is driving me round the twist. Ta - Dika

Silly question - have you tried using your other shift key?

I have this problem, and I start having it since I start using to computers
with a controler that help me switching between the two.
It always happen when I use the mouse, but when I open the MDB using the
enter key with shift it doesn't happen.

Any way, something else to use. if the application load and the shift key is
ignored, press the F11 key, it should make the window apear again, unless you
disabled this key

Aaron - was a good idea - I must admit I never thought to try it.
Unforntunaly did just the same thing. Oh, I have also put
CurrentDb.Properties("AllowBypassKey") = True in the Immediate Window, but
still does the same. Aarrhh! I thought at first it might be the KB as when it
hit the Return key hard (out of frustration) it seemed to work. But only
once! I am going home now to sit with a drink and ponder. Ta - Dika

Ofer, look at you moving to level 2!

Interesting about having the issue with specific hardware. On that note...

Dika, I would try using as simple a mouse and keyboard combo as you can get
your hands on. See if that corrects the issue. If so, then you know it has
to do with your more sophisticated hardware, otherwise you can look back at
your code. To rule out all hardware issues you might just want to try on
another machine altogether and see how that works.

Aaron and Ofer - thanks to both of you. Obviously it is something I am just
going to have to live with as working for the council I certainly have the
cheapest, simplest mouse and KB combo possible - sophiscated anything we have
not! Ofer - I was not clear about what a controler helping you switch was
exactly so can't rule that in or out. Again thanks for you input.

Dika,

This is one of those weird things that will drive you insane. If you can't
try it on a different machine, and they don't have extra keyboards and mice
for you to use, see if you can't "borrow" at least a keyboard and mouse from
a coworker - at least to elminiate your specific input hardware.

Good luck!

Hi Joan - I have tried every combination of holding it first, last, long
short, etc. and with different mice and KBs- finally sorted it a different
way. Dika

Aaron - I have come to the conclusion you are right. I've tried every
combination of different mice, KBs. etc and unless they all have the same
flaw I'm stumped. I finally sorted out a different way to deal with it.
