Shell Hardware Detection

Hi. I have a slight problem. I turned on my computer normally, and it loaded
windows and everything, but at the welcome screen it stopped and didn't load
explorer. If you leave it for a while (2-3 min) it begins to work but it is
extremely slow. I used mscofig to find the problem and it turned out to be
the service "Shell Hardware Detection". If this works, everything is slow, if
it doesn't everything is still slow but at least most things work. Any
directions to fix this problem will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try going to run,type:services.msc In msc scroll down to Shell Hardware
Detect-
ion,double click on it,set to auto start,then start the service if it isnt
running.

I've tried that before and it doesn't seem to work for me. If I turn it on
and open My Computer, it starts searching and i can't access my hard drives.
