SHELL.DLL Errors

Many times when attempting to install a program off of a CD I have been
receiving an error message that states Cannot find Shell.Dll and when I click
okay, I receive another message that states there is a error with the system
dlls. Is there a way to fix this problem? Thanks.

Go to Start menu, run, cmd, sfc /scannow you will be prompted to insert your
XP setup disk.. If the dll's are related to SP2 you may have a problem
though, so post back if you do..

I tried that. It went through the whole thing with installing the disk and I
still have the same problem. It is saying that it can't initialize the
installation because system dlls are corrupt or missing. Do you possibly
have another suggestion? Thanks for all your help.
